Annett earned his first and only Xfinity Series win during the season-opening race at Daytona in 2019 after starting third and leading 45 laps.

The NASCAR world has been rocked by the death of another driver this weekend as veteran Nick Joanides has died. Joanides, 55, was a star on the West Coast scene most recently making three starts in the ARCA West Series. He also drove in the NASCAR Xfinity Series when it was called the Nationwide Series.

NASCAR fans were struck with a second dose of tragic news on Friday after the death of Michael Annett, with West Coast veteran Nick Joanides also passing away.

Michael Annett made 436 combined starts across NASCAR’s three national touring series before retiring in 2021.
