Hijacked plane crashes at Van Nuys Airport in Los Angeles after suspect reportedly breaks into flight school building. FBI responds to early morning incident.

A 37-year-old man was arrested for allegedly attempting to steal an airplane at the Van Nuys Airport on Thursday. The small Cessna aircraft crashed into an adjacent hangar at the airport around 4 a.m.

A Piper PA-30 small plane with 2 onboard crashed after taking off at DuPage Airport on International Drive in West Chicago, the FAA said.

The FAA confirmed a Cessna C550 crashed while landing just after 10:20 a.m., according to WCNC. FAA registration indicates the plane is owned by GB Aviation Leasing, a company owned by former NASCAR driver Greg Biffle, according to WCNC.

Video from the scene showed the front of the aircraft piercing the side of a hangar, leaving a gaping hole in the building.
