Is the wall load bearing? If so you may need a header to carry load (If floor joists sit like this on a wall, then its load bearing) 3. This is typically the most complicated ascpect of a custom shower 😳 Where to locate that shower niche and avoid tile slivers 😳😳 I've found it easiest to use a story pole 💥💥 Lay out tile, space out grout joints, & then reference to see where & how tile edging will look. In this basement bathroom shower addition, we are using 3" x 12" tiles in a stacked pattern.
